Big Skies represent, to me at least, more of a feeling than anything else. It has mostly to do with the fact that there is something happening up there: pressure systems colliding; a new season approaching; news on the winds up high. There is a definite intangibility to clouds and their formation/dissipation: they are extraordinarily short lived and capturing them on film allows me to extend their lives beyond a brief moment. Sunrise and sunset are the optimal times for me to find these engaging scenes but once in a while I find myself gazing out of the windshield of my car are needing to stop and reach for my camera. |
