The ocean seems to be drawing me back to its shores again and again lately especially on the west coast of Vancouver Island where it can be seen in it's full splendor.  Living on an island gives me the opportunity to visit the ocean at any time I please but it is the trips to the open coasts that appeal to me most.  Trips where I am living by the rhythms of the ocean: whether it is listening to the sound of waves as I sleep inside my tent or when I am in my kayak responding to the never ending swells that come across the Pacific, I am keenly aware of the impact that the tides have on all of the life around me.

  The "OCEANA" series of images is just beginning to come together but I will be adding to it more and more as time goes on.  I hope through these photographs to relay a tiny fraction of the awe that I feel when I am on the shores of the ocean.
